Case Study #1 – Visian ICL™
Product History
A relatively new client, STAAR® Surgical Company partnered with Einstein Industries in 2006 to improve the performance of its pre-existing Visian ICL™ website. The first step in the expansion was the company's purchase of a banner advertisement in the Vision section of DocShop.
Next, STAAR® Surgical Company purchased a Customized Website with advanced SEO to replace the existing Visian ICL™ site. The company further improved the site with the purchase of a Video Website, which includes numerous videos from satisfied patients.
Since the launch of Einstein Industries' revamped Visian ICL™ website, visianinfo.com experienced an increase in traffic, search engine positions, and email contacts. The search engine optimization features of the Video Website are placing the Visian ICL™ videos on the first pages of search results on Google™ Video, YouTube™, and AOL® Video.
The website's performance continues to improve and grow.

SEO Keyword Rankings
The list of keywords targeted in the SEO strategy for visianinfo.com includes various terms related to Visian ICL™, refractive surgery, and vision. From October 2006, the month prior to the implementation of the Einstein Industries SEO strategy, through September 2007, the number of targeted keywords ranking on the first three results pages of the major search engines improved as follows:
- Total keyword positions improved from 14 to 96 (586% increase)
- Google™ keyword positions improved from 4 to 62 (1,450% increase)
- Yahoo!® keyword positions improved from 8 to 51 (538% increase)
- MSN® keyword positions improved from 8 to 57 (613% increase)
During the first month of Einstein's SEO strategy, including advanced SEO and a Video Website, visianinfo.com saw a 21 percent increase in visits from search engines as a result of targeted keyword searches.
Website Visits
From October 2006 to September 2007, visits per month to visianinfo.com have increased as follows:
- Overall visits per month grew from 3,023 to 7,746 (156% increase)
- Total visits per month using keywords grew from 983 to 2,280 (132% increase)
- Monthly visits from Google™ users grew from 752 to 1,934 (157% increase)
- Monthly visits from Yahoo!® users grew from 145 to 154 (6% increase)
- Monthly visits from MSN® users grew from 57 to 83 (46% increase)
DocShop Banner Ad Visits
- The traffic to visianinfo.com from the Visian ICL™ DocShop banner ad increased from 96 visitors in November 2006 to 185 visitors in September 2007 (93% increase).

Since the launch of Einstein's SEO strategy for visianinfo.com, Einstein Industries has tracked the number of email contacts STAAR® Surgical Company has received from website visitors.
Since the launch of the SEO strategy for visianinfo.com:
- Emails to STAAR® Surgical Company from website visitors increased 143% from 44 per month in October 2006 to 107 per month in September 2007.
- Over the last 3 months, STAAR® Surgical Company has received an average of 137 emails per month as a result of the Visian ICL™ website.
